DO I NEED SUPPLEMENTS TO KEEP UP MY MILK SUPPLY?

Based on current clinical research data, there is no evidence that any product (food, teas, supplements) will increase milk supply. The very best things you can do to maintain supply is stay well hydrated, stay well nourished, and breastfeed frequently! The more often you stimulate the nipple with feeding, the more a signal is sent to your brain to produce prolactin, the hormone which makes milk. If your baby suckles often, or you pump often, the brain receives the message: this is a hungry baby, we need to make more milk!
There are a few products that have been shown to decrease milk supply (peppermint, antihistamines, antidecongestants). However, in the absence of significant medical problems of the mother, the most important thing to maintain supply is the frequency of nipple stimulation by either pump, hand expression, or direct feeding.
